Well we had an epic few days away up at Jurien Bay to kick off our fishing for the year. The weather was predicted to be outstanding and it sure turned it on for us. It is not all just fishing on these trips, we got to test out some of the latest gear to hit the market including the new Daiwa Saltiga LD reel along with the new Vexed Occy Head Skirts, the fish just wouldn't leave the damn thing alone! On this trip we had Kurt & Vijay tag along for the ride. The fishing over the 3 days was really good, we managed to find a lot of new ground with fish sitting on a lot of the spots we marked. On this trip even though the wind was minimal the current was actually pushing quite strong, normally this shuts the fish down but not on this trip! There was plenty of big sambos hanging around with a few good fish landed and a lot of smokings had. The Dhufish bite was really good though for the mornings with a number of fish coming over the side. The #1 Dhufish slayer, Vexed Bottom Meat accounted for a number of fish along with the Vexed New Occy Head and Hunt Kacka soft plastic. An awesome few days away catching fish! One thing we noticed was how warm the water was with readings up to 25 degrees! Hopefully we see a good pelagic season for 2021!
