Stefan did not grow up as a Muslim. In fact, he did not know many Muslims until his brother in law, who recently converted to Islam, introduced him to the religion. For the past few months, Stefan has observed his brother in law and began thinking deeply about Islam. He read the Quran, listened to Islamic scholars, and did some more research. By the grace of God, Stefan officially declared his shahada at the Mosque Foundation in Bridgeview. About discovering Islam, he says, "It was the first time I found peace, the first time I found love."
