Singapore Chinese Garden | Jurong Lake Gardens Singapore | Singapore 2025 The Singapore Chinese Garden, located in Jurong, is a serene and picturesque park inspired by classical Chinese landscaping and architecture. Built in 1975, it was designed by Taiwanese architect Prof. Yuen-Chen Yu and showcases elements reminiscent of ancient imperial gardens. The garden features traditional pagodas, stone bridges, and a stunning Bonsai Garden, creating a tranquil escape from the urban bustle. One of its highlights is the majestic Twin Pagodas, offering panoramic views of the lush surroundings and Jurong Lake. The garden is also home to the iconic "Bai Hong Qiao" (White Rainbow Bridge), modeled after Beijing's Summer Palace bridge, enhancing its authentic Chinese aesthetic. Beyond its architectural beauty, the Singapore Chinese Garden serves as a cultural hub, celebrating Chinese heritage and traditions. The garden previously housed the Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum, which attracted visitors with its diverse collection of turtles and tortoises. During major Chinese festivals, such as the Mid-Autumn Festival, the garden would come alive with vibrant lantern displays and cultural performances. Together with the adjacent Japanese Garden, it formed the larger Jurong Lake Gardens, a beloved recreational area for nature lovers and photographers. Although the garden has been undergoing redevelopment in recent years, it remains a cherished landmark that blends nature, history, and Chinese artistry.
