The tobacco industry sells deadly and addiction products that kill nearly 8 million people in the world annually -- 1 million of whom are in the Americas. In the Caribbean, it is estimated that 5,600 deaths annually are attributable to smoking. More than USD $33 Billion is spent every year in Latin America to treat health problems caused by tobacco use. The tobacco industry has not been held accountable because of its tactics.
