Mono-Blue Belcher is a Modern combo-control deck that wins by activating Goblin Charbelcher with no actual lands in the main deck. Instead, it runs only modal double-faced cards (MDFCs), which count as spells on the front but can be played as lands. That means every Belcher activation is lethal. You’re not just trying to turbo out Belcher, though. The deck plays a solid control game with interaction like Disrupting Shoal, Flare of Denial, Spell Snare, and Sink into Stupor, all of which also double as mana sources through MDFCs. To find your namesake card consistently, you use Fallaji Archaeologist, Thundertrap Trainer, and Whir of Invention. You can also generate a big mana burst using the Tameshi, Reality Architect and Lotus Bloom combo, allowing you to deploy and activate Belcher all at once. The sideboard includes a mix of tools against combo, aggro, and grindy value decks — including Force of Negation, Flusterstorm, Into the Flood Maw, and even Harbinger of the Seas for 4- or 5-color decks. There's also a single Mountain to bring in for matchups where opponents might give you a land — making Belcher wins more likely. It's a unique approach to Modern combo and one of the best-positioned decks in the current meta. Thanks for watching!
