Join Brown Arts Initiative during the REMAKING the real Fall Festival for a preview of in Pursuit of Venus [infected] with artist Lisa Reihana. The powerful 70 foot long scrolling video is Reihana’s corrective to the historical record, created in response to eighteenth-century views of the Pacific islands as presented in the historic French wallpaper Les Sauvages de la Mer Pacifique (Native Peoples of the South Pacific), 1804-05.
