Been quite a while since getting this cross country out for a spin (sold the smaller scaled out one). Decided to try some large bfgs and new beadlocks (new to me, added rings and hardware). The mamba x isn't very smooth.., needs to be programmed. The tires may also be a little too large.., rubbing front bumper on full lock. Just went to a local dam (w/ trout bridge) and park.., nothing really amazing except for the beautiful scenery. Think I have a set of iroks 4.4 on 1.55 I’ll try on this rig next. previously Rc4wd Cross Country Black Rock #mudderputter Didn’t have much time off for the holidays , as I was able to go on a trip shortly afterwards. Took this quick footage before meeting up with a buddy to go on a trail session. This was taken over a week ago;) Rc4wd Black Rock Cross Country apparently has been pulled off the shelves due to infringement issues.. un-licensed body. Had this rig for a few years I believe…, finally had a slow week and decided to pick at this body instead of finishing projects already started. This one had a bunch of the upgraded parts (metal link mounts etc); but the body was pretty rough. I really liked how the last cross country body I used turned out (purple pony); so I decided to chop this one up similarly. Without running the fender flares; I was able to run the larger rock beasts (4.5) with out rubbing. Tho I had to adjust servo end points…, tires rubbing shocks on full turn. Wasn’t a fan of how close the paint matched the wood panelling…, the red came out looking toned down with the matte clear coat. The wood paneling had a stronger red tinge than I had anticipated., thus the colours blend in a little too much imo. Finished the interior bit just went with a simple painted interior; instead of fully carpeting/ leathering. Been more interested in building rigs that I don’t have to be so careful with. This body is definitely the weakest/ lightest plastic that rc4wd has ever used for a shell. Unfortunately still using the stock shocks (with separate coils)…, they won’t hold oil and just bounce around in the most annoying manner. Just need to finish the engine bay.
