Gjógv is an unbelievably charming village on the Eysturoy island in the Faroe Islands. This colorful settlement is located at the end of an hour drive from Tórshavn – a rewarding travel through the mountain passes and jaw-dropping valleys along the way. Gjógv takes its name from a sea-filled gorge historically used as a harbor. There are still stairs all the way down to the gorge, you can walk down there to the sea to get in pretty narrow space and feel the vibe. Gjógv offers a good view of the westside of another island, Kalsoy.
