SOUTH SACRAMENTO (PSN) — A man died Wednesday morning after being shot outside a liquor store on Franklin Boulevard, authorities said. Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were called about 8:15 a.m. to the 6100 block of Franklin Boulevard, where they found the victim on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies began CPR before the man was transported to UC Davis Medical Center. He later died, Sgt. Amar Gandhi said. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument inside or near the liquor store, Gandhi said during a press briefing. The dispute did not involve store employees. Witnesses gave deputies a description of a suspect vehicle that included a distinctive feature: a spare tire strapped on top. Deputies spotted the car nearby and detained two men believed to be involved. Gandhi said investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public. Franklin Boulevard, a busy thoroughfare, remained closed for several hours while deputies secured the scene and continued their investigation. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s name after his family is notified. An update from Sgt. Gandhi revealed that Pedro Alonzo was arrested in relation to this incident. ----------------------------------------- For more action news you can trust visit https://www.psnews.us/ Contact [email protected] for licensing.
