People staying at the Thistle City Barbican Hotel, in Islington, waved and blew kisses at protesters in the street below. The protest outside the north London hotel, which has an exclusive use contract with the Home Office, was sparked earlier on Saturday. Elsewhere, similar clashes took place in Manchester throughout the city centre. Roughly 600 protesters, organised by Britain First, met outside Manchester Piccadilly train station.
