Until recently, I could use crypto platforms in the Philippines without any issues. But this month, the rules changed. The SEC rolled out new requirements; now exchanges have to register locally, put up at least ₱100 million in capital, and even set up a physical office with employees. When I first read the news, I joked around like I was the one who needed the ₱100 million just to trade. Of course, that’s really for the platforms themselves, but the truth is, as users, we still feel the impact. Major exchanges like OKX, Bybit, KuCoin, and Kraken are now being flagged, restricted, or blocked, leaving fewer options for traders. Crypto isn’t banned here, but it’s definitely getting harder. What used to be simple access is now a lot more complicated. #entrepreneur #philippines #american #crypto #digitalnomad #money #cryptocurrency #investment #americanexpat #movingabroad #asia #southeastasia #nomad #expatlife
