D'Oyly Carte Island on the River Thames near the Weybridge to Shepperton Ferry was once owned by Richard D'Oyly Carte who produced the Gilbert and Sullivan Operas. He also owned the Savoy Hotel and Savoy Theatre in London. The ferryman took me around the island on 12 April 2017 on my way back from the Shepperton side to the Weybridge side of the River.You may observe that the picture is not good in part of the video. That is because I was sitting in the boat and could not avoid the Sun towards me for part of the journey Michael Parkinson
