Question 2 in the ABRSM Grade 6 Music Theory exam asks you to supply a soprano, alto and tenor parts to a given bass line with figured bass. The figures used at this grade are restricted to 5/3 (root position), 6/3 (first inversion) and 6/4 (second inversion). You need to understand how to build chords from the figures, and then lay them out to create individual parts, using correct doubling, spacing and voice-leading, and avoiding awkward part-writing such as consecutive 5ths and octaves, dissonant melodic intervals, and crossing parts. This video is a walkthrough, showing you a method for tackling this exam question, which is worth 15% of the exam paper. See www.mymusictheory.com for more music theory tutorials and materials!
