There's been some discussion recently concerning whether or not Liu Kang and Kung Lao are actually related. Now of course, if you go back far enough, you'll find everyone on the planet is technically one big family. Researchers from the University of California, Davis, recently uncovered DNA-based information to confirm pre-existing mathematical theories which indicated everyone on Earth is related (Ralph & Coop, 2013).
