In part 1, after exploring Bergen,the first stop of our journey, we visited Viking Village and the charming town of Gudvangen, where the history of the Vikings unfolded before our eyes; As the cruise ship sailing through the serene waters of Nærøyfjord, a branch of Sognefjord, surrounded by majestic mountains and waterfalls, we felt the awe of the beauty Fjord Norway brings. At the Norwegian Glacier Museum, we learned all about the glaciers that shape this beautiful land, and also the latest research on "Ötzi the Iceman", discovered in northern Italy in 1991. We continued on to Hellesylt, a lively and quaint village, where we took a cruise ship to Geirangerfjord and arrived at the destination of this journey - Ålesund, a coastal city in western Norway that re-birthed from a major fire in 1904, and is now renowned for its Art Nouveau architecture and panoramic views from the hilltop of Storhaugen. At the end of this episode, we embarked a large ferry ship from Ålesund to Svolvær, the largest town in the Lofoten Islands.
