In partnership with the Austin Refugee Roundtable, Refugee Services of Texas (RST) hosted a World Refugee Day 2020 Virtual Event that included a Book Reading and Q&A with Dr. Khawaja Azimuddin, author of The Boy Refugee. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for colon cancer. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. As a child, he spent two years in a refugee/ civilian prisoner of war camp. After almost fifty years he is finally telling his story and hopes to bring attention to the current refugee crisis.
