This video-based micro-learning course introduces medical residents and fellows to the methods of hypothesis-driven research. It covers the basic principles of scientific inquiry, including how research is designed, conducted, evaluated, explained to patients, and applied to patient care. It is meant to provide foundational training to support medical residents and fellows in conducting research and participating in scholarly activities. The course was designed to assist medical residents and fellows in completing their Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) research requirements. It will also help them participate in sponsored research, prepare an article for a peer-reviewed publication, present research at a regional or national meeting, or participate in a structured literature review of an important topic.
