This short and informative animation is just one in a series of educational animations commissioned by the Met Office and produced by Drive Creative Studio Ltd. We began each animation process by dissecting the core messages to be communicated and producing rough storyboard sequences. With a young audience in mind, the complexity needed to be kept to a minimum and the delivery of information at a suitable pace. The Met Office was keen to develop resources that met the needs of the curriculum but for the modern classroom. The use of multimedia resources in the classroom is on the rise and the Met Office wanted to produce an engaging set of animations that would give a fresh feel to its educational offering. Exported stills would also be used on education learning sheets.
