Cut from underneath. Check underneath? Cut from on top Step offline and use Haigan (low pulling energy) to redirect 🗡️ Inside the Arc of Power Intercepting deeply can neutralize the attack by attacking the tendon or wrist Even if contact is on the arm, maintain dominance and redirect the line Bend the wrist properly for a slicing angle that leads the blade away from your body 🗡️ Using HAIGAN for Redirection Haigan controls the centerline by pulling the opponent’s energy down Redirects power and opens a path for a devastating tendon cut Blade angle and structure are crucial for disarming the attacker 🧠 Essential Training Tips: ✅ Know where your blade is in relation to your hand at all times ✅ Practice stepping off the line (T-Step) to reduce incoming force ✅ Use form transitions (Biu, Tan, Bong) for live applications ✅ Always aim to lead the opponent’s weapon away from your centerline ✅ The cutting angle and target (tendons, wrist, arm) will determine the efficiency of the defense 💡 Final Notes from Sifu Keith: This lesson highlights the importance of foundational movement and the principles of blade control in Wing Chun’s weapon systems. Even with a single sword, the conceptual structure remains strong — your movement, angle, and awareness dictate your survival and success.
