Video tutorial on how to knit the Turkish stitch (knit in the flat; Simple Stitch Series; traditional stitch pattern). Abbreviations: K=knit; SKP=slip 1 stitch, knit 1 stitch, then pass the slipped stitch over; sl=slip the stitch purlwise; YF=bring the yarn forward. Turkish Stitch Pattern (cast on even number of stitches): For each row: K1, *YF, SKP. Repeat from * until last stitch, then K1. Repeat this row for the pattern. Turkish Stitch Infinity Cowl Pattern(C) (Note: this pattern is copyrighted to Knittycat's Knits and may not be reproduced or used for commercial purposes) Cast on 30 st using the provisional cast-on method. Knit the Turkish stitch pattern as described above until work measures approximately 40 inches (I pretty much used up the whole skein, leaving about 25-30 inches for joining the ends). Recapture the provisional stitches at the cast on edge. Twist one edge of the knitted piece (to get the infinity style) and then join the live stitches on each end using the Kitchener stitch. Weave in yarn tails and block (if desired; the piece lays pretty flat and does not absolutely require blocking). Additional helpful links: How to SKP: • How to do SKP and SK2P decreases: a Knitty...
