Is it the blessing of a political leader or the rule of a local gangster? When the O News Hindi team reached the ground for investigation, shocking revelations came to light. On government land in the Punjabi Bagh area, a large number of illegal immigrants—especially Rohingya and Bangladeshi Muslims— have built unauthorized slums. While the government is speaking of cleanliness, pollution control, and law enforcement, the ground reality in these slums is of filth, fear, and crime. Local residents—especially women—shared their fear, saying they feel unsafe going out due to the behavior of those living in these slums. Some women claimed they have been living here since Indira Gandhi’s time, but now the situation is out of control. The most alarming name that emerged was a man known as “Pandit,” allegedly the mastermind behind this illegal slum racket. He is said to operate from the Karampura area of Delhi, and nothing happens in the slum area without his command. This has also exposed the vote-bank politics of certain political parties, which have supported these illegal immigrants for decades just to secure their votes.
