First we explore what is meant by relative atomic mass in terms of isotopes and the number of neutrons. I explain what is meant by the "abundance" of an isotope. We then look at how to calculate the relative atomic mass for different elements, including boron which has two common isotopes and magnesium which has three common isotopes.
