A round of IHMSA Big Bore Silhouette as seen through the target camera. Mike was spotting for me with the Longshot Hawk Spotting Scope Camera. It has turned out to be a useful tool not only for spotting, but also for reviewing shots and calls! I've been working on a setup using an iPad that allows capture of the target camera video and the shooter at the same time. I'm shooting Freestyle Creedmoor position in Big Bore Unlimited Any Sight. The handgun is a Thompson/Center Contender with a 7-30 Waters "Hunter" barrel with the factory muzzle brake and an inexpensive import Weaver Classic 2-6 x 32 scope in Weaver Quad-Lock rings (rear offset) on an E. Arthur Brown base. The load is the Speer .284" 145 grain Boat Tail in Federal brass and 33.1 grains of IMR 4895 - the velocity is about 2,000 FPS. I run about -15 MOA of shim on the rear scope ring and a 200 Meter zero. I dial elevation for each set of targets, and typically hold on the center of the target. 50 Meter Chickens: -5.5 MOA 100 Meter Pigs: -4.5 MOA 150 Meter Turkeys: -2.5. MOA 200 Meter Rams: Zero The scope has enough elevation to dial around +20 MOA for the 500 Meter Rams when I shoot Ultra 500 with this setup. Special thanks to Mike Hackett for the spotting and camera work!
