Tibial tuberosity distalisation with 1/3rd tubular plate fixation

My current technique for tibial tuberosity transfer and fixation. This technique can be used for distalisation but also anteromedialisation. The fixation is performed with a 3.5mm lag screw proximally and a three-hole 1/3rd tubular plate with two cortical screws (one proximal and one distal to the transverse osteotomy site). This technique although is more technically demanding than screw fixation only or using large fragment screws, has the significant advantages of reducing the risk of fractures around the transverse osteotomy cut (no fractures in more than 60 cases), avoids proximal migration of the tibial tuberosity fragment (which happened in 15% of cases with large fragment screw fixation), and still achieving union (no cases of non-union or failure of fixation). In my opinion this should be the gold standard for fixation of tibial tuberosity transfers.
