Vans RV 10, Build update Panel Part 6. More updates on the wiring for my panel, specifically on cable management and lacing, finally complete the fabrication for the installation of the GMS 245 and how it will be attached to the panel. I did also identify a problem with the GTN/GTX 650 alternate power management, most of the Garmin avionics have redundant power pins to allow for backup power... It appears that is not the case with the navigators, though hard to confirm as Garmin for some reason does not offer access to the navigator installation guides (and associated pin outs). I guess either they believe that the experimental world is smart enough to build an experimental aircraft... but not smart enough to figure out the wiring for a navigator (I'll take that challenge any day) or they are concerned certificated aircraft owners will take things into their own hands (if they want to violate rules that's on them - lets not make it difficult for everyone).
