I read on the internet that adding salt to a candle will make it burn longer. I wanted to test that theory and see if I could use some of the salt, I made for one of my recent projects, to elongate the burn time on my cheese wax candles. In researching this experiment, I found out that the cheese wax I have been using is mainly paraffin wax. Unfortunately, paraffin wax burns somewhat dirty and some studies show that the fumes may cause cancer... so I won't be making candles with this wax anymore. Instead, I'll be using wax from my beehives. I wanted to share the results of this experiment as it would still apply to candles of other wax types but I wouldn't recommend using paraffin wax at this time.
