#Delhipolice #Nizamuddin #IPstate #delhicrime #seelampur A cunning gang operating near Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station has been busted by the police. This gang was not using autorickshaws to ferry passengers but to carry out thefts. The IP Estate police team arrested five members of this gang, including a woman. From them, the police recovered jewellery worth around ₹20 lakh, ₹11,000 in cash, and two autorickshaws used in the crimes. This gang specifically targeted people who were in a rush and often took shared autos. As soon as passengers exited the railway station or bus stop, they would unknowingly board the gang’s auto. A couple of members posing as passengers were already seated in the vehicle. Then, one or two more members would join in along the way, and the auto would seem full with “passengers.” The gang had cleverly included a woman member to make the auto ride look normal and avoid suspicion. The real passengers would never imagine that they were surrounded by thieves. By the time they reached their destination and stepped out of the auto, they would realize their cash or valuables were gone—cleanly stolen from their bags or pockets during the ride. The police revealed that the gang had been active in different parts of Delhi for quite some time. The gang leader already has several criminal cases registered against him in the Seelampur area and had been evading arrest. This time, police used CCTV footage and technical surveillance to identify and track the suspects. Finally, they were caught red-handed near Nizamuddin railway station. Upon questioning, it was found that the group followed the same pattern daily, targeting innocent and unsuspecting travelers using shared autos. The arrests are being seen as a major breakthrough by Delhi Police—not only because a notorious gang has been busted but also because they were breaking the trust of everyday commuters. With all five culprits now behind bars, there’s hope that people can travel a bit more safely in the city. However, this case is also a reminder to stay alert, especially when taking shared transport. A quick decision made in haste can sometimes cost you dearly.
