➤ GEORGIA ROAD TRIP ITINERARIES https://www.goingthewholehogg.com/des... ➤ JOIN OUR PATREON COMMUNITY   / goingthewholehogg   In the final episode of our four-part overlanding Georgia series we wake up to a warm welcome from a local farmer in the mist-enshrouded Adjara Highlands. He brings us some homemade cheese, bread, and creamy churned milk, and then teaches us how to eat it properly! The answer is not with a spoon ; ) We descend through the mist towards Khulo, visiting the incredible Ghorjomi Mosque on the way. This colourfully painted wooden mosque is covered with intricate carvings and dates from 1902. Next up is a misty hike up to 13th century Khikhani Fortress (2215 m) and an amazing couple of nights at Glamping Tago. We visited in May 2021 when the finishing touches were still being done, with the bathroom block still under construction and the platforms for the last few lotus belle tents still being built. Glamping Tago is now completely finished though, and open from Spring til Autumn - go visit, it's amazing! Next up, we tackle the Goderdzi Pass and climb up to Zekari Pass in Borjomi-Kharagauli NP for an amazing wild camp with Mt Elbrus views! We end our journey in Racha, camping by Shaori Reservoir and re-visiting our favourite guesthouse in Georgia, the Family Hotel Gallery in Oni. We get to taste the wine we helped make during our last visit, and explore a few waterfalls with Nika, the son of the guesthouse owners.
