I made a cool modern lamp! I’ve always wanted to make a wood lamp and finally got the time to create one. This DIY lamp is made from some amazing figured walnut from a slab that I chainsaw milled. I went with a pentagon shape and no visible base. I wanted to build my lamp so it looks clean and modern. My lamp project started with milling a bunch of wood. I cut the edges at 36 degrees using the table saw. Before I glued it together, I cut a diagonal in the front board. For the base, I cut a thick piece of walnut so it fits into the underside of the lamp. I wired the lamp using electrical parts I picked up at the home center. I made it so the lamp uses a regular light bulb. There’s a switch in the back side that looks clean and doesn’t detract from the lamp’s modern appearance. This was a pretty easy project. The most difficult part was thinking about how I wanted it to look. Hopefully you’ll give a DIY lamp project a try. It’s totally worth it! NOTE - AFTER EDITING THE VIDEO I REALIZED I PUT THE SWITCH ON THE WHITE WIRE. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE BLACK WIRE. I CHANGED THIS AFTER THE VIDEO WAS FILMED. •• About NewtonMakes•• I’m Billy and I make fun things. Sometimes, it’s something I need like tool storage ideas.
