Day 16 of the 28 day journey. Today I want to share a conversation I had with someone who was thinking about writing a memoir. The question was simple. Are you writing to tell your story, or are you writing to create something people will actually buy and read? Many people have gone through challenges and difficult experiences. That alone does not always make a story commercially compelling. What people are often looking for is insight. They want to understand the process that helped someone move from struggle to success. In this video I talk about: Why most memoirs only sell to friends and family The difference between telling a story and teaching a process How framing your experience as a framework creates value for readers Turning personal challenges into practical lessons others can apply Why people buy solutions, not just stories I also share a bit about my own journey, including experiences with homelessness and how those lessons shaped my perspective on storytelling and personal development. If you are an author or thinking about writing a book, I would love to hear your thoughts. Are you writing to share a story, or to help someone solve a problem? Day 16 of 28. See you tomorrow.
