Yesterday I discovered this hive was riddled with wax moth. Unfortunately I realised this far too late as I am new to bee keeping and missed the early warning signs. Checking the brood box I found no frames of brood and could not locate the queen. I cleaned out most of the infected frames, removed the super box and left them with a couple of their frames of honey that did not have any pollen (where the wax moth I have noticed tend to infiltrate). There would be enough bees to completely cover approximately 4 frames so I am going to have a go a re-queening this hive rather than just let them all die off and losing the hive completely. I have blocked off most of the entrance to help them fend off any robber bees (you can see them fight off one at the start of the video) until I can get the hive going again.
