I've always been in love with realistic, glamourous angel wings in photo shoots, for cosplays, on runways, in competitions - but I could never find exactly what I wanted in a pair to model myself, so I started DIYing my own from scratch. [All photos used at the end of this video are courtesy of Illinois photographer and these wings' new owner, Terry McCue] I have improvements and things I want to do differently when I make my next pair of wings, but in this video I'm going to walk you through how I create my angel wings from goose feathers and cardboard. It's much less difficult than it sounds given you have a bit of patience and time, and I lay out some details that will help make them more cost effective. WHERE TO FIND MATERIALS / PRICES - FEATHERS: https://bit.ly/3qqpaue -- I searched FOREVER for this, these are by far the least expensive I've found and come in the most colors. Currently they're $2 + a reasonable shipping fee per 100 feathers; for the 1.2k needed in this video, this would be $24 + $9 shipping. **Alternatively, the 2nd cheapest feathers I found were on Amazon for roughly $10 per 100 feathers. CARDBOARD: I just asked a local store to donate to the cause and they were happy to give me some boxes. Check your local grocery store, gas station, etc., and/or recycle what you have. **Cardboard a bit on the thicker side is ideal! STRAPS: https://amzn.to/3eFTnTK - $10 for 20 pairs in various widths. You can get smaller packs, but this was the most cost effective for me. PAINT: I've used all kinds of paint on these and any kind of acrylic/spraypaint works fine (even the absolute cheapest stuff), but if you like the shiny metallic bronze I used in this video you can find that here in a pack from the Sargent Art brand for $11: https://amzn.to/3quu9Kk HOT GLUE: I strongly suggest high or dual temp hot glue / hot glue gun for security, but any will do. Here's a $15 pack that includes a dual temp glue gun with a pack of Gorilla Glue sticks - https://amzn.to/3B54YTx Want to enjoy more angel photos, more modeling content, and more artsy DIY fantasy creations?
