Assam News | Massive Unrest In Kokrajhar As Tribal Students Break Into BTC Secretariat

In a major and unprecedented development in Assam, thousands of tribal students and youth in the Bodoland region — dominated by the Bodo tribe, the largest tribal group in the state — stormed the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Secretariat after a massive rally opposing the state government’s move to grant Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to six additional communities. Protesters allegedly ransacked parts of the BTC Secretariat.
