For the past month I have been having pain in my low back on the left side and a burning pain in my right glute. I'm not able to sit for more than 20 minutes without excrutiating pain, I can't bend forward, and sleeping was becoming difficult. In this video I am about to get a nerve block procedure done to help with the pain. I am know this isn't a solution, just a temporary fix to improve my quality of life. I just don't want to take pain pills, so this is my next best option. A bit of history about my back: 25 years ago I had a laminectomy (ruptured disc L4/L5) and was told in 3-5 years I would likely be back on the operating table for another disc issue right below. Fortunately I changed my lifestyle and didn't have any back pain or issues for nearly twenty years. The disc of concern mentioned above (L5/S1) was herniated and causing my right leg to go numb. Eventually I would not be able to completely lift my right foot and the numbness/loss of sensation was constant in the outside of my right calf and foot. I ended up having a microdiscectomy, which helped the pain, however the nerve damage was permanent. There are still parts of my right calf and foot I can't feel. After this surgery, I haven't had any issues with my back. I had noticed if I got 3 straight days of poor sleep, my low back would hurt, so I make sure to prioritize sleep to prevent this. Unfortunately, since the beginning of March, I have had several late night events and commitments, so I initially thought the back pain that started a few days into March was due to poor sleep. Except, It didn't go away. After a few wekks, I ended up getting an MRI, confirming the nerve root at both L4/L5 and L5/S1 were being compressed, which was causing the pain. I will continue to drop updates in case you are also facing these issues. #lowbackpainrelief #laminectomy #microdiscectomy #nerveblock #nerveblockinjection #lowbackpain #backsurgery
