Join us for this empowering, free professional development on integrating Neurodiversity-Affirming principles into assessment and therapy, with prominent clinical psychologist, advocate and trainer, Monique Mitchelson. This webinar is ideal for psychologists and other clinicians looking to upskill or strengthen their Neurodiversity-Affirming practice. Learning Objectives Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to: Understand and feel empowered to integrate the principles of the Neurodiversity-Affirming movement into clinical practice. Confidently apply a strengths-based lens to working with neurodivergent adults. Understand the importance of screening for neurodivergence in clinical practice. Identify appropriate tools for screening or assessment of Autism and ADHD and understand their strengths and limitations. Know when to explore neurodiversity with a client during therapy and when to refer on for specialised assessment. Webinar Summary Neurodiversity-Affirming practice is an approach that recognises and celebrates the natural variations in human neurocognitive functioning, and where difference is seen as normal, not disordered. For psychologists and other mental health clinicians, adopting this practice means providing therapeutic support that embraces the unique strengths of neurodivergent people and acknowledges the inherent challenges that arise from being different. This webinar will focus on supporting clinicians to integrate Neurodiversity-Affirming principles into clinical practice with Autistic and ADHD adult clients. We will explore the importance of being aware of neurodivergence, and how screening for and identifying neurodivergence through a strengths-based lens can be transformational for our clients. In addition to helping clinicians understand how to identify neurodivergence in adults and know when to refer on for specialist assessment, there will be a focus on understanding the role and appropriate use of screening and assessment tools, such as: Comprehensive Autistic Trait Inventory (CATI) Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ) Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness – Version 2 (MAIA-2) Camouflaging Autistic Traits Questionnaire (CAT-Q)
