Packed with cinnamon-sugar goodness — these cinnamon rolls are made extra special with freshly milled flour. Milling wheat berries at home gives your dough unbeatable flavor, texture, and nutrition. In this recipe, I’ll show you step-by-step how to make soft, gooey cinnamon rolls from scratch, with a cream cheese frosting on top. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or whenever you’re craving a cozy homemade treat! Cinnamon roll dough: 1 cup warm milk 1/3 cup of honey 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast 4⅔ cups all-purpose flour ⅓ packed light brown sugar ½ cup unsalted butter melted 1 large egg, room temperature 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon cinnamon Cinnamon roll Filling: Mix 1/2 a cup of packed brown sugar to 6 tablespoons of room temperature butter along with 1 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon until the texture is smooth. Next, uncover your dough and form it into a rectangle then with a rolling pin, roll it as close to 12 x24. Once you’ve done that, spread the filling all over it. Then on the wide side, start rolling the dough into a tight log. Next cut your log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a buttered baking dish. Cover for around an hour, or until they double in size. After the hour, place them in a 350 degree preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned on top. Cream cheese frosting: Mix together 4 ounces of room temperature cream cheese with 2 tablespoons of room, temperature butter, then mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, a pinch of salt and 2 cups of powdered sugar, one cup at a time. Then add one to two tablespoons of milk and give it a final mix. Pour the cream cheese frosting over the cooled cinnamon rolls. Enjoy!!
