Patrick was born in 1992 in Miami to a supportive family of Spanish and French descent. He was a bright, friendly, and ambitious person who followed in his father’s footsteps into the construction industry. In 2017, Patrick met Jessica, a bank employee, and the two quickly fell in love. Patrick moved closer to her, proposed, and they began planning their future together. However, Jessica had a complicated past with her wealthy and controlling ex, Gregory Bender. Although they’d broken up, Gregory became dangerously jealous of Patrick, harassing and threatening the couple. Despite a restraining order, Gregory’s fixation persisted. On February 27, 2018, Jessica found Patrick dead at his home, shot multiple times. Suspicion soon fell on Gregory, who left minimal evidence but made several incriminating mistakes. Investigators discovered his detailed notes outlining the murder, left carelessly in his home. In court, Gregory’s ex-wife testified, leading to his conviction. Gregory was sentenced to life without parole.
