EARLY MORNING Arrivals in BC Wildfire Smoke | CINEMA QUALITY Plane Spotting

Featured Aircraft: B77W, B762, A321, SF34, B738, B788 Featured Airlines: Cathay Pacific, CargoJet, Air Canada, Pacific Coastal, WestJet, ZIPAIR, Air India ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– VIDEO TLDR AND UPDATES Wildfire smoke is quite possibly one of the biggest "high risk, high reward" situations I could ask for. Dreadful to film in – not sure about anyone else, but the smell gives me an awful headache, tricky to get the right camera settings, and a pain in the ass to colour grade. All that being said, the finished product actually looks pretty cool! The effect of the smoke on the lighting is unlike anything else; it's not fog which seems to diffuse all the colour out of the lighting and increases the luminance tenfold, but there is a interesting effect that takes place. Seen here, the activity around the airport doesn't stop! I was lucky to capture some early morning shots in these unique conditions, even luckier to get my hands on a Sony FX9 to shoot them with – You can check out my rig on my community page!
