On Nov. 9, 2014 Aura Rosser was shot and killed by a City of Ann Arbor police officer at her home, after her boyfriend called 911 during an argument. Rosser was a Lansing native and Detroit Cass Tech graduate who had moved to Ann Arbor about a month prior to live with her boyfriend Victor Stephens. On Jan. 30, 2015, Washtenaw County prosecuting attorney Brian Mackie announced that no charges would be brought against AAPD officer David Ried who shot and killed Aura in the head and in the chest for holding a kitchen knife in her doorway. From the Ann Arbor News initial description of the incident: The two officers were called to the 2000 block of Winewood of Ann Arbor around 11:45 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. Police say Rosser "confronted" the officers with a knife, prompting them to use deadly force to stop her. @CandorCasting
