PTI’s foreign funding case has been pending before the election commission since November 2014. During the last 5 years, PTI has been using delaying tactics in the case. It has challenged ECP’s jurisdiction on various occasions and forums, challenged Akbar S Babar’s membership of the party, refused to cooperate with the committee set up by ECP to scrutinize its bank accounts and has recently requested the court to keep the proceedings in-camera. However, all these objections have been rejected and now ECP Chief has ordered hearing of the case on daily basis from November 26.
