#OPRA #PublicRecords #MediaLaw Streamed and recorded live on Oct. 21, 2019. Do you have questions about NJ's Open Public Records Act? Ask CJ Griffin, Esq. of Pashman Stein Walder Hayden! MORE ABOUT CJ GRIFFIN: https://www.pashmanstein.com/attorney... Over the course of several years, CJ has built a reputation as one of the leading Open Public Records Act attorneys representing media companies, nonprofit organizations and citizens. CJ has argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court numerous times on a variety of important public interest issues including OPRA cases that are defining the public’s right of access to government documents, meetings, and otherwise hidden or unavailable information. The landmark decisions CJ has litigated have received extensive press coverage and accolades from the public – from animal rights activists to disenfranchised voters to police transparency advocates and proponents of civil liberties. A large percentage of CJ’s appellate work has been on a pro bono basis, representing organizations such as the ACLU-NJ, Libertarians for Transparent Government, Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey, Garden State Equality, and others as amicus curiae in significant cases on OPRA, freedom of speech, voting rights, criminal procedure, and defamation law. CJ is currently Vice President of the ACLU-NJ Board of Trustees, and previously chaired the LGBT Rights Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. CJ publishes the New Jersey OPRA Blog to help keep the public informed about updates in the law and routinely hosts OPRA trainings for community organizations and newsrooms. CJ is also the director of the newly launched Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center.
