We finally experienced Thailand’s famous Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan and it was nothing like we expected. We arrived a few days early and honestly could not believe how quiet the town was. For a place known for one of the biggest beach parties in the world, Haad Rin Beach felt calm and relaxed. Even the night before the Full Moon Party there were barely any people around. But throughout the day everything slowly started to change. Food stalls began appearing along the beach, neon body paint stands popped up everywhere, and travellers started arriving from all over Thailand and Southeast Asia. By sunset the entire atmosphere had shifted. Then once the sun went down the transformation was unbelievable. Haad Rin Beach in Koh Phangan went from a quiet beach town to thousands of people partying along the sand for the legendary Full Moon Party.
