We use a range of topographic survey techniques depending on the nature of individual sites and client requirements. We conduct topographic surveys using both traditional Total Station techniques and with Global Navigation Satellite Systems receivers, using real-time kinematic (RTK) corrections. For high-resolution elevation datasets over a wide area, we offer UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) surveys using drones fitted with the latest survey sensors. BEACH AND LAND PROFILING We acquire cross-sectional profiles over both terrestrial and intertidal areas. Surveys can be conducted either on a one-off basis or over multiple periods to build a history of change in an area. HABITAT EXTENT MAPPING We use topographic survey techniques to measure the distribution and spatial extents of terrestrial and intertidal habitats such as saltmarsh, reedbed and mudflat. Like cross-sectional profiling, this can be conducted on singular or multiple time frames to map how habitats change over time. GROUND TRUTHING Using single-point observations and cross-sectional profiles, we can verify elevation datasets such as Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) or single-beam/multi-beam bathymetry. UAV services: We provide bespoke UAV surveys using un-manned aerial vehicles. Drones are fitted with high-resolution RTK enabled survey sensors to map large areas of interest.
