Keynote Speech by Igor Lukšić, the former Prime Minister of Montenegro „People care about Liberalism.“ We are living in a different political landscape today than a few years ago. In 2008/9 the financial crisis hit Europe and many people evoked the Austrian School to explain what stood behind the crisis. The solution, however, was not a libertarian. It is necessary to put economy back to flourishing. Because of the current crisis of the EU the former Prime Minister raised the question whether we moved from one crisis to the next. EU‘s identity is questioned and there is yet no solution to that. What will be the outcome of Brexit? The relations to Russia deteriorated. EU Integration process is vital for the countries. They need to get access to the markets. The world is changing rapidly: EU - Canada is the only free trade at the moment. Globalization comes from China right now. With Trump there is a new administration in the US. Values are interpreted differently. We need to encourage those who promote liberal ideas. We have lots of work for years to come.
