Here is the engine running sweetly on about 15psi steam. I removed the inlet cam follower and rigged an overhead valve with a very short opening period so as not to waste steam through exhaust valve. I brazed an extra lobe on the exhaust cam to make valve open once per revolution. Now Ive got it working I shall start to engineer the linkages etc to a proper standard . Bungee cord is used to close the inlet valve till I can find a nice spring to do it.The boiler is a dive cylinder tested to 4500psi. Safety valve is set at 45psi at moment. Portions of the crankcase will be cutaway to allow manual oiling of important bits, the sump will now be dry. The eagle eyed among you may note a fair bit of steam from crankcase, piston is blowing by, needs a little oil injected to steam inlet to keep a better seal. Im amazed at how slow it revs even with the standard flywheel, delightfull. I may try and fit an old stuart turner flywheel I have to make it smoother. Do not atempt to copy any of this , steam under pressure is a potential danger to life and limb.
