Today Becky shows you how to make her grandmother's Sausage, Sauerkraut & Dumplings recipe. It's a favorite of the Albans! Hope you enjoy it! Ingredients: 2 Beef Kielbasa Sausages 2 Cans Bavarian Style Sweet Sauerkraut 3 Cups Floor 3 Eggs Milk (to moisten flour) Salt & Pepper to taste Butter Directions: In a large pot bring some water to a boil. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Open 2 cans of sweet sauerkraut and spread it out on the bottom of a 9 X 13 glass casserole dish. Cut the Kielbasa into 1-1/2 inch pieces and place on top of the sauerkraut. Mix flour, eggs, salt, pepper and milk in a large bowl. Keep adding small amounts of milk at a time until mixture becomes a wet sticky dough with no dry flour. Add a dash of salt to boiling water. Spoon in dumpling mixture in small batches. Let them boil until they float to the top on their own. (Do NOT stir and force the dumplings to pop up! Let them rise to the top on their own,) Place boiled dumplings on top of the Kielbasa and Sauerkraut. Place in oven for 30 minutes or until the dumplings are lightly browned. Melt some butter, (about 1/2 stick per person) in bowls in the microwave to dip the dumplings in. Serve and enjoy! Our PO Box info: Matt & Becky Alban PO Box 230 Des Plaines, IL. 60016
