Western Australia Begins! | Esperance, Lucky Bay, Crazy Tracks & Wild Weather This week we officially start our Western Australia adventure in the stunning coastal town of Esperance. After a massive stretch on the road we slow things down for a bit to rest, reset and enjoy one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Of course… things don’t always go to plan. While we’re here we explore the incredible beaches around Cape Le Grand National Park, including the famous Lucky Bay, known for its crystal clear water, white sand and iconic Aussie scenery. We hit some tight bush tracks that leave the RAM with plenty of pinstripes, tackle soft sand on the way to remote fishing spots, and take in some of the best coastal views WA has to offer. But Esperance also reminds us just how wild the weather can be down here. One minute it’s calm and beautiful… the next we’re dealing with a freak storm that rips through camp and destroys one of our mate’s caravan awnings. Add in a bit of sickness, unpredictable conditions, and plenty of adventure, and you’ve got a pretty eventful start to Western Australia. Despite the chaos, Esperance absolutely delivers. The beaches, the tracks, the fishing and the raw beauty of the coastline make it one unforgettable place. One thing we will say though — if you take anything away from this video and you ever visit Esperance, you HAVE to try Bread Local. It’s only open Fridays and Saturdays, but it is hands down one of the best bakeries / cafés we’ve come across travelling Australia. Seriously good food and absolutely worth planning your visit around.
