It’s Christmas Eve in Victorian Leeds, but the cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge hasn’t an ounce of festive cheer. As the cold night draws in, four ghostly spirits take Ebenezer on a magical journey through his past, his present and his future, hoping to show him the error of his ways. With Christmas spirit, fun, music and magic at its heart, this timeless Charles Dickens tale is brought vividly to life in A Christmas Carol: At Home. With all the joys of a festive family story, the Playhouse is reinventing this production of A Christmas Carol: Live from the Pop-Up Season in 2018, based on an original production at Hull Truck Theatre. Adapted by playwright Deborah McAndrew and directed by Playhouse Associate Director Amy Leach. The show will be available to watch from 7pm on Mon 21 Dec – 7pm on 25 Dec. This includes captioned and Audio Described versions of the show. BSL is integrated into the storytelling of the pre-recorded performance.
