Aside popular Ghanaian foods like fufu, there are many hidden ones that could be explored and enjoyed. In this video I share with you a more rare one from the Nzema people in the western region of Ghana. Its is called Atieke. It is made from cassava. The cassava is ground into a dough and then all the water is drained out. Then the cassava dough is made into very small balls, dried and then steamed. Then sold ready to be used for cooking. It can be had with Ghana stews, soups or just plain chilli sauce. This dish is sold as street food as well as in local Ghana restaurants.
