We're based in The Midlands UK and today I want to talk to you about my favorite subject in ponds, and that's pond plants. Pond plants are fantastic. They are very, very quick to grow, they can out suppress other weeds, they're truly magnificent. They're very lush and in one season you can have a lot of ground cover or big architectural growth. Some of the fastest growing plants in the planet are water plants believe it or not. It could be a case of that you've got a small area that's open to sunlight. There's lots of small, little water plants in there that can tolerate having pretty much a third of their foliage and all their root system in and underneath the water. There's Water Lilies, big striking Evergreens, structural plants. There's other plants that can come in and you can have even scents, textures. It could be a case that you've got a seat and you brush across this patio feature that's got a few plants in there, and you can have the nice smell of lemon and mint. There's lots of different aromatic water plants out there. Also you can have your pond and eat it. What about Watercress. All of the different water plants there's lots and lots things, and unless you've got fish in a pond that you're treating with chemicals or something because a disease has got in there you can no problem at all eat the water plants so you can have an aeroponics system in your own back garden. There's a little bit of information about pond plants and I'm going to do a whole series of videos on pond plants so that's just a quick overview. We've not talked about Water Lilies, we've not talked about marginal plants, moisture loving plants, even floating plants, oxynators.
